Heat Treated Pallets

Heat Treated Pallets are a type of wood pallet used to transport goods. They are specially treated to prevent insects or fungi from being transported by the wood pallet from one location to another. Heat treating is a process in which pallets are treated to prevent from fungus and other insects. In heats treating treatment the wood is heated until its core temperature reaches 56 degrees Celsius for at least 30 minutes. This process is widely recognized as an effective means to destroy any pests that could be harmful to forests. Wood can also be fumigated, but heat treating is considered an environmentally preferable alternative. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) governs the size of wooden shipping pallets and there are six globally accepted sizes. All the Heat Treated Pallets are required to conform to these ISO sizes for shipping so they can fit into trucks and ocean containers without wasting too much space.
